Training Case Study
 The Challenge
In accordance with our customer’s strategic decision to outsource system build and system test services to a third party company in India, a team of developers and system testers was transferred to the UK as the initial stage of the transition of agreed development and system test services offshore.
Prior to joining the project employees from the sourcing company in India had virtually no knowledge of the financial services market, within which they were working, mortgage processes and procedures or the new mortgage system they would be supporting. In addition, the system test team had limited system test skills and experience.
Our customer recognised that, in order for a quality system to be delivered to the project, the team from India would require formal training.
Delivered
Training requirements were identified and a training schedule defining content, approach and deliverables was provided by a Solutions 4 Finance training consultant.
Our consultant then specifically designed, developed and delivered a set of five training courses for the development teams in order to address the lack of business and product knowledge and to increase awareness of the financial services market.
Training delivery consisted of formal training sessions including presentations, demonstrations and practical exercises. Delegates were assessed during the course and a report on each delegate was compiled for each training session. Delegates were also asked to provide feedback on delivery of each course by completing a standard feedback form.
Benefits
Our consultant met all training requirements on time and within budget and on completion of delivery of all courses our consultant provided a detailed report to our customer that assessed each delegate individually. This enabled our client to assess the ability of the development and system test teams to provide services from an offshore environment and to progress transition planning accordingly. |
